You may have heard us say that there are no “off the shelf tours” here at BRT – but what does that mean? Today we’re giving you a look into how we create each and every itinerary from the ground up.

It starts with a conversation

We lay the foundation for your itinerary from the first conversations we have with you. One unconventional way we learn more about your travel goals is by asking this question that gets to heart of the matter – “What are your first thoughts when you think of (your destination)?” Those answers (along with your goals for the trip) become some of the initial elements we incorporate into your itinerary, as they’re clearly top of mind. For our team of planners, these early conversations about travel goals and group dynamics are a goldmine of information that we use to build the framework for an incredible, personalized travel experience.

It’s got it all

Once we have an outline of must-have experiences identified, we dive right in and include everything your group could possibly want to do at your destination. We find it’s best to design an action-packed itinerary and scale back as needed, based on cost or logistics. After planning thousands of student trips, we have a thorough understanding of the activities, tours and opportunities available in dozens of destinations throughout the country. We leave no stone (or travel experience) unturned as we’re putting together those initial drafts of your itinerary, knowing that we’ll work together to shape your trip around what’s most important to you.

Even after 35 years of planning student travel, you’ll never see two identical BRT itineraries, because every one of our clients has unique needs. We apply our constantly expanding experience to every trip, choosing only the most student-friendly destinations, activities and opportunities. Clients will often have very specific goals or ideas for their trips – and we love that. We can accommodate almost anything, but have the experience to make solid recommendations and suggest excellent alternatives.
