Travel Notes

prepare for a student trip

The best thing about creating fully customized student travel experiences is that no two itineraries are ever the same. We listen to our clients, learn what matters to them and help them figure out the why behind their desire to travel, then we craft an amazing experience that fits each group to a tee. One of our favorite things to include on an itinerary is big “event” – an incredible performance opportunity in a renowned venue, a prestigious parade with a huge audience, an intimate music education experience – you get the picture. Those exclusive opportunities are what your students will be talking about months after the busses arrive home. Those moments are what turn a great trip into a life-changing, memory-making, AWESOME trip.

Here’s just a taste of the kinds of experiences you can expect on a BRT itinerary:

Broadway Clinics

Simply seeing a Broadway show is remarkable, what will your students do when they can both meet AND learn from the stars they saw on stage? We work with a select group of Broadway performers (both actors and musicians) who share the tricks of the trade in student clinics, walking aspiring performers through the music they know and love.

Thanksgiving Parade of Bands

An event like no other, our Thanksgiving Parade of Bands is a mass band event held at the Walt Disney World® Resort that brings together exceptional bands from across the country and around the world. These bands learn together and perform together in a non-competitive environment as they play custom arrangements created exclusively for the event by Grammy nominated composer Rick DeJonge.

The Cantus MM International Music and Culture Festival in Salzburg

For four days in the month of July, the city of Salzburg, Austria takes the spotlight as performers from all over the world gather to celebrate music. The Festival is a life-changing experience for students, as its focus is to encourage young musicians from different cultures to learn from each other. We like to use the Festival as a starting point for broader European adventures – there’s just so much to explore.

Nashville Songwriting Session

Songwriting in Music City with industry insiders? What could be more exciting? Nashville recording artist Meghan Linsey and Record Producer Tyler Cain perform and then co-write original songs with students. By the end of the session, not only will they have written a song, but students will also witness and contribute to actually producing a track.

New York City Veterans Day Parade

Marching past the Empire State Building past thousands of flag-waving parade attendees is a moment your students will never forget. The New York City Veterans Day Parade is held in Midtown Manhattan every November, featuring over 20,000 participants, including veterans from all eras. Bands will need to apply and be selected to participate, as only a few bands are chosen each year.

These kinds of exclusive experiences are just a few examples of the travel magic we perform with every itinerary we create. We love when directors come to us with fresh ideas that we can bring to life, even if they’re completely new experiences for our team. If you’d like for your students to experience a life-changing trip – whether it’s across state lines or across an ocean – we’d start thinking up exclusive opportunities for your itinerary. Till then, keep up the travel daydreams!
