Meet Chris
Your travel partner.
With 18 countries (and counting!) in his passport, Chris fits right in with our team of world travelers here at BRT. Chris is both traveler and international performer, gracing stages as a choir singer in Germany, Canada, New York, and Chicago – so he intimately understands the power of performance travel. As a music educator for eight years, he traveled extensively with his students, equipping him with essential travel planning experience that he brings to his relationships with BRT clients. Chris loves to dream up an itinerary and then bring it to life for fellow music educators and their students – but the best part? Hearing about the transformative experiences young performers have on tour and knowing he helped make them happen.

My favorite travel memory
I was on a choir tour in Germany, and we sang Franz Biebl’s Ave Maria in a church that survived bombings during World War II. Knowing what happened in that space, here we were performing this beautiful piece of music bringing a sense of calm, serene, and peace to everyone present in that moment. It was an incredibly powerful moment that had an impact on all of us.
My hobbies and pastimes
Aside from traveling, you can find me on the ice at hockey rinks and theatres (professional and community) around the Chicagoland area. I have been playing hockey as a goaltender since I was 8 and have kept the love and passion for the game ever since and LOVE going to see a musical at any level.
My favorite destination
Nara, Japan! Japan as a whole is wonderful because of the seamless beauty between centuries of history blended in with modern day architecture and conveniences. Nara itself is a former capital of Japan and is a place where deer are a protected species, as they are considered to be sacred messengers of the gods for over 1000 years. You can feed them special “Shika Senbei” which are specially made crackers for the deer and are a healthy treat. If you bow to them before feeding them, they will even bow in return! Be careful to keep the crackers hidden before approaching or you may find yourself surrounded by hungry deer!
