Meet Jessica
Concert band, jazz band, marching band, drum corps and orchestra – that’s just a glimpse of the performance experience that Jessica brings to her role here at BRT. But she’s more than an experienced performer; she’s a veteran music educator with a keen eye for detail and a deep love of spreadsheets. She loves the entire planning process, from finding incredible experiences for students on tour to making lists and checking them twice. With a lifetime of performance travel memories of her own, she’s thrilled to help create them for a new generation of student performers.

My favorite travel memory
My favorite travel memory would have to be a cruise to the Yucatán and Cozumel with my family. In Yucatán, we got to explore the Dzibilchaltun Ruins, one of the many Mayan Ruins. It was so cool to walk on them and be fully immersed in such a fascinating part of history. When we stopped in Cozumel, I got to swim with a dolphin, which has been at the very top of my bucket list since I was a little girl. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life, and I can’t wait to swim with dolphins again!
My hobbies and pastimes
When I’m not at work, you can usually find me teaching trumpet lessons, giving my dog Willie belly rubs, at the gym, or out for a run. I’m guilty of the occasional Netflix binge session, too. I love shoes, and am incredibly sad that I can no longer spend my paychecks at Payless. I also enjoy mowing the lawn and pulling weeds, if the weather cooperates. My favorite ways to relieve stress are coloring, reading, and playing the piano.
My favorite travel destination
My favorite travel destination in the United States is North Carolina, because that is the only state I have been to for a personal vacation (the life of a band kid!).
