Meet Justin
A passionate music educator, marching band show designer, avid trumpet player and seasoned traveler, Justin brings a wealth of experience on all sides of performance travel to his new role on our team. His decades of experience are uniquely layered – he taught middle and high school band for 16 years, spent 20 years in marching band show design and served as a judge for marching band, concert band and small ensemble festivals in the Midwest for a decade. He remains both a performer and a director, co-directing a middle school honors symphony orchestra that he created with his wife several years ago. Justin is thrilled to combine his life’s work and experience as a past BRT client as he brings performance travel dreams to life for educators and their students.

My favorite travel memory
Just one?! No way! How about a two-way tie…One would be getting engaged with my beautiful wife, Rebecca, years ago on an Ambassadors trip. We were in Venice on a gondola ride when I proposed (which sounds way more romantic than it probably was, ha!). The second would be any of the trips we have taken with our son, Noah – to Disney, LA, Chicago, Mexico, Jamaica, the Caribbean, etc. We love traveling as a family and exploring new places! I have had MANY opportunities to travel as a student, musician, teacher, chaperone, etc. Music performance travel has taken me to more than 30 states and ten countries!
My hobbies and pastimes
Our son is an avid baseball player and musician, so we spend a lot of time at the ballfields and working on all things brass. (I am a trumpet player, and he plays both trumpet and euphonium.) We love visiting baseball stadiums around the country and rooting for our hometown sports teams in Kansas City.
My favorite destination
I love spending time in the Caribbean! Warm sun, relaxation, exploration, and a laid-back pace…my favorite place to get away and unwind with my family!
