Meet Lisel
Lisel has spent her entire career in the student travel industry, serving in different functions, from on tour operations to business development and beyond. Throughout her professional journey, Lisel has prioritized building and maintaining lasting relationships, as she believes that strong partnerships are foundational to superior experiences for students. She loves working closely with vendors to identify unique opportunities for student travelers and is thrilled to bring her expertise to our team at BRT.

My favorite travel memory
That’s a tough one! Traveling to the Galapagos last year with my family was unforgettable. Watching the world through my daughter’s eyes when we came face-to-face with baby sea lions and Giant Tortoise is something I’ll never forget. Seeing the impact that travel has on her world vision is incredible!
My hobbies and pastimes
Travel means the world to me. I’ve traveled to 50 countries at this time and my goal is to hit every continent, learning about the culture and other world views. We are an equestrian family. I competed in Hunters growing up and these days, I get to play pony mom, while sometimes getting to ride myself.
My favorite destination
Istanbul is my favorite place to visit and somewhere I can’t wait to return with my family. The city is a melting point of cultures, religions, and politics. The same things that make it so unique and vibrant are what also make it so volatile. I better understand the tensions and long history of conflict in a way that you can’t learn in a textbook. This understanding is what drives my fascination with traveling and experiential learning.
I have yet to have a less than stellar experience when working with BRT. Any small issue that may arise is always taken care of quickly and the stress is taken off the directors and the chaperones. It's truly a first-class experience and I end every trip excited for the next.
