The “next” normal + recruiting for your program
Travel Notes

You’re probably tired of hearing the term “new normal” when it comes to adapting to this unprecedented season – you may be sick of the word “unprecedented” too! Here at BRT, we’re ready for the next normal. You know, the next chapter, the one that we’re all hoping lies right around the corner.
Your students are ready too. Ready to get back to their everyday school lives, schedules and friends. Ready for anything that feels normal. Like having a student trip on the calendar, just like they did before their worlds were flipped upside down. Here’s how having a student trip on the horizon impacts both your students and your program:
Travel makes that “next normal” a reality
The last year forced all of us into survival mode, but now it’s time to thrive again. We’re all hopeful that the next school year, while bound to be different, will usher in that next normal: students back in the classroom with performance programs back up and running. Planning a trip for the 2022 travel season gives students and parents something to look forward to and a renewed sense of “normal.” A trip on the calendar also helps to redeem a stolen school year, when so many students experienced one cancelled activity after the next. While we can’t replace that missed travel experience, planning a new one is the next best thing. And we’re ready to get planning!
Travel is a natural recruiter
With performance programs on hold over the last year, we know many of you saw students leave your programs and your numbers take a dip. Travel is a great way to build student interest again, especially because excited students are your best promoters. Announce your upcoming trip to your current students and watch them naturally get the word out about both the trip and your program. Many of our clients have found that they see an uptick in enrollment in years when a trip is offered – we only expect that trend to grow. Annual travel also adds a legacy element to your program and helps build an awesome culture – so if you’ve never traveled before and are looking for a way to grow, this might be a great time to start travel dreaming.
Travel keeps students engaged in your program
You found creative ways to keep your students involved in your program this past year, even when they couldn’t perform together. A performance travel experience on the calendar is another way to keep students engaged, involved and expectant for a great school year. When students and their parents understand that that your program is planning for the next normal, they’ll be more likely to stick with you, even if plans have to change.
We’ve got big plans for the year ahead and we’re ready for everything the next normal will bring. If we can help you plan a trip or simply start dreaming of the possibilities, we’d be happy to. You can reach us here, here or here. We can’t wait to connect with you!
