Mike Crandall – A Musical Journey

A seasoned veteran in the world of music education and group travel, Mike Crandall’s unique blend of experiences and personality provides his clients with tangible standards of enthusiasm, expertise, and commitment.

In his time traveling as a member of The Ohio State University Men’s Glee Club, Mike had amazing experiences across the country and abroad.  “I remember being introduced to incredible places, meeting interesting people and making great music with some of my best friends.”  One music education degree, ten years as a high school choral director, and multiple concert tours later, Mike was primed for a new adventure as an educational travel professional.

“I’d always enjoyed traveling with my students,” Mike recalls, remembering the powerful experiences his own travel planner had created for his choirs during his teaching years. Since joining the BRT team in 2010, Mike has had a passion for building strong personal relationships with clients and making their student trips worry-free.

“I really care about what they’re going through! I want them to know I am working to take all of the stress and pressure of travel off of them. They have enough to worry about. Our team is there to create exceptional student experiences full of meaningful educational and performance opportunities.” Mike’s extensive teaching background helps him relate to the educators and students he serves on a deeper level that translates into remarkable client care.

Still an active part of the music community, Mike regularly serves as an adjudicator and clinician for show choirs and performs frequently with the Young Professionals Choral Collective of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble, and Cincinnati Men’s Chorus. Living a life that “revolves around music,” Mike runs in the same social circles as many other professional music educators and performers – the kind he works with every day. “I love talking to clients – hearing their struggles, hearing their joys.”

While Mike loves creating memorable experiences for others, an incredible reward of his work has been reaping many joys of his own. Whether marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, seeing his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes play in the National Championship Game, or learning to ride the Hawaiian surf, Mike’s clients have been beside him for many of his most monumental moments.
