Performing at Walt Disney World® Resort

Mar 20, 2023

Our founder, Bob Rogers, began taking students to Walt Disney World® Resort in 1971. Back then, Bob was a busy band director and hadn’t yet dreamed of starting his own travel company. Many of the first official Bob Rogers Travel trips included performances and fun at Walt Disney World® Resort, establishing the beginning of a relationship that still thrives today.

While the magic has stayed the same, the Walt Disney World® Resort has evolved so much since Bob’s first trips, offering incredible opportunities to groups and student performers. There’s just too much magic to include in this blog post, so today we’ll focus exclusively on the numerous performance and music education possibilities that exist in The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Disney Imagination Campus Performing Arts

Education meets imagination in the programs available through Disney Imagination Campus, where students learn from master performers and musicians. There are many options to choose from:

Workshops

Soundtrack Sessions: Instrumental – Hone fundamental skills like intonation, balance and tone quality, while learning how phrasing, dynamics and articulations can add emotion to any piece of music. Disney music professionals will share the high expectations of being a professional musician and how to succeed in the field.

Soundtrack Sessions: Vocal – Performers will unlock the magic of storytelling through iconic soundtracks from Disney films. They’ll be immersed in a recording studio environment where they will sight-read music and learn how to analyze their own performances.

Dance Disney – Performers will discover how to create movements that tell a compelling story and immerse their audience into the story through choreography and staging techniques from one of the many shows performed at Disney Parks across the world.

Disney Broadway Magic – Performers will learn a scene from one of Disney’s world-famous shows that combine singing, dancing and acting. At the end of the workshop, they’ll take to the stage for a show-stopping final performance.

(Minimum requirement of 20 performers for these workshops.)

Performances

Marching Band Performances – Your performers will discover the excitement, magic and unparalleled experience of entertaining Disney Park Guests through a time-honored tradition. They’ll be challenged to bring their very best to their performance as they learn the expectations and discipline that go with being a Disney performer.

Stage Performances – Your performers will step into the spotlight as they dazzle a live audience with a once-in-a-lifetime performance, experiencing the excitement and magic of being a professional performer.

(Minimum requirement of 20 performers for Stage Performances and 40 instrumentalists / 50 performers total for Marching Band Performances.)

Festivals

Festival Disney Instrumental – Achieve performance excellence at this Disney-produced competitive music festival! Your ensemble will compete with other schools from across the country while making magical memories at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Festival Disney Choral – Spruce up your performance skills as your students compete against other schools from across the country while receiving positive feedback from nationally recognized adjudicators—all while making once-in-a-lifetime memories at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Thanksgiving Parade of Bands at the Walt Disney World® Resort

Our Bob Rogers Travel Thanksgiving Parade of Bands is a mass band event on Thanksgiving morning in the Magic Kingdom. Student performers will rehearse in the park before it opens (just like the pros), and enjoy an extravagant Thanksgiving dinner, an awards ceremony, a private performance by the Presidio Brass and a private dessert party with a Disney nighttime spectacular!

For more than 32 years, Bob Rogers Travel has served as a member of the Disney Youth Travel Planners Symposium. We’re also proud recipients of the Disney Partners Award and Top Producer Award for Disney Imagination Campus Performing Arts programs. If you’re considering a trip to Walt Disney World® Resort with your students, we’d be thrilled to share our expertise and plan an experience your group will never forget.
