Universal Orlando Resort: Three Tips for Your Trip

Mar 29, 2023

Every year, Bob Rogers Travel takes at least 200 groups to warm, sunny Orlando, Florida, because this destination has it all – gorgeous weather, awesome performance opportunities and, of course, some of the best theme parks in the world.

If you’re considering a trip to Orlando with your students, you’ve probably got some fun at Universal Orlando Resort on your bucket list. At least, you should! This massive resort includes three action-packed parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and waterpark Volcano Bay. And Universal CityWalk is the Epicenter of Awesome, with shopping, dining and entertainment everywhere you look.

As always, we customize our travel experiences to you and your students, so your Universal Orlando Resort experience will be designed to maximize everything your group is excited to do together. As you’re dreaming about all the possibilities, here are a few of our top recommendations to keep in mind:

Take Part in Universal Orlando’s
STARS Performance Programs

Universal Orlando’s STARS Performance Programs offer incredible options for performance student groups, including:

Stage performances
Don’t miss the opportunity to take the stage at Universal Orlando! The Lagoon Stage in the CityWalk entertainment complex is the perfect place for your group to perform for visitors as they shop, dine and travel between parks.

Marching opportunities
Your marching band can perform on the streets of Universal Studios Florida for cheering crowds and brand-new fans. If you visit during the holidays, you may have the chance to march in Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s Pre-Parade.

Workshops
Learning while traveling is always something special. Currently, Universal Orlando offers a Sound Design workshop that gives students the opportunity to score a movie scene and Dance workshops that are led by Universal Orlando’s own choreographers and performers.

(Minimum requirement of 40 performers for stage performances, marching band opportunities and workshops.)

Music festivals
Universal Orlando offers several music festivals throughout the year, both competitive and non-competitive, that allow student performers to learn, grow and shine.

Get the Park-to-Park Ticket

It’s easy to explore the two main theme parks at Universal Orlando Resort, as Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida are connected by Universal CityWalk. This two-park ticket ensures your group doesn’t miss a thing, giving you more time to experience some of the best rides and attractions in Orlando!

Stay on Property at Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Orlando Resort has so much to explore – why not stay in the heart of it all? Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort even has its own entrance to Universal’s Volcano Bay! Staying at any Universal Orlando hotel comes with some valuable perks, like early park admission and complimentary shuttle buses ready to take you to all three parks and Universal CityWalk.
